Each week we are sharing some of the 200 character and vehicle options from our upcoming post-apocalyptic game, which uses Into The Odd’s system.
This week we are sharing the Toxic Ranger character option, which comes with a mutant creature companion. We are also sharing the slow but sturdy Hellcrawler vehicle option.
Toxic Ranger
You roamed the poisoned ruins, navigating choking fumes and glowing wastelands. Whether scavenging forgotten relics or guiding survivors through the haze, you learned to thrive where others withered.
Ability: Rad Scout
You begin with +2 radux, which is permanently on you.
Gear
Rust-pitted machete (d6 fight), scrap bow (d4 shoot, bulky), cracked breather mask (+1 radux), radiation-etched goggles, toxic survivor’s cloak, glowing sludge jar (provides bright light)
Where Did You Roam & Who Was Your Faithful Companion?
- Glowspire Ruins: A crumbling city saturated with radiation. Take a Rad Hound (Flesh 12, Spirit 6, Bite d6), a glowing dog immune to radiation and can sniff out mutants.
- Blight Bog: A poisonous swamp filled with rotting vegetation. Take a Sporecrawlwe (Flesh 10, Spirit 8, Spore cloud d4 blast), a bloated six-legged lizard covered in fungal growths.
- Ashen Valley: A region blanketed in volcanic ash and toxic smog. Take an Ember Mite (Flesh 8, Spirit 6, Fire d4 burst), a cat-sized beatle which can spark small fires.
- Green Grave: A toxic jungle overrun by mutated plants. Take a Thornback (Flesh 12, Spirit 6, Peircing needles d4 fight or d4 shoot), a porcupine-like creature which can launch and regrow needles.
- Corpse Fields: A desolate battlefield littered with tainted bodies. Take a Bone Bird (Flesh 8, Spirit 10, Terrifying screech d4 fear), a skeletal bird which flies high and locate corpses.
- Radstorm Ridge: A mountainous zone ravaged by radioactive storms. Take a Stormwing (Flesh 8, Spirit 12, Bite d4), a bat-like creature which is drawn to power sources.
Why Did You Leave?
- Glow Marked: The radiation left you with strange marks, making you a target for the Mutie Killers gang. Pick one player character who helps you evade the Mutie Killers.
- Lost Haze: A scavenging mission went wrong, and you were the only one to make it out. Pick one player character who helped you recover.
- Ash Viper: A Giant Ash Viper killed your old gang and you want revenge. Pick one player character who hunts it with you.
- Toxic Whisper: In toxic winds a whisper latched to your mind and promises you salvation. Pick one player character who believes in the whisper.
- Dark Betrayal: Your crew turned on you, leaving you to die. Pick one player character who found you and is helping you get revenge.
- Wanderer’s Redemption: You left the poisoned lands, hoping to find a better purpose. Pick one player character who inspired you to leave or joined you on your journey.
Hellcrawler
A massive, six-wheeled monstrosity that grinds across the wasteland like a crawling fortress.

- Bone totems rise from the top of the rig.
- A scavenged loudspeaker blasts distorted static and the occasional garbled voice.
