Five Parsecs From Home My daughter was born recently, which is why I took a break from posting blogs. I'm still working on my Accessible Mega-Dungeon with a focus on roleplay each day, but I want to share something I've been doing in my free time while stuck at home without much hobbying. I have … Continue reading Jim’s Blog – Five Parsecs From Home

In my journey to create an Accessible Mega-Dungeon with a focus on roleplay, I have to create a lot of rooms. 365 rooms to be precise. Creating a diverse collection of rooms had me worried that I would struggle to invent enough unique ideas. However, as I delved into the task, I found that I … Continue reading Jim’s Blog – Room For Improvement

I plan on creating one of these for Acid, Fire, etc, but this one was a lot of fun to create. The Frost Dragon Toad is for the Elemental TTRPG by Gildor Games and they are really quick to complete, much quicker than the DND 5E monsters. I believe it should be fairly easy to … Continue reading Frost Dragon Toad

When I first wanted to begin … Continue reading Jim’s Blog – How To Run A Play-By-Post

In my quest to design a Mega-Dungeon with a focus on Roleplay, I want to build something that can be used by many people and not just myself. I'm making sure to build … Continue reading Church of System Agnosticism

In my journey to create an Accessible Mega-Dungeon with a focus on Roleplay, I need to ensure that journeying within it is fun. When I'm playing a TTRPG I want travel to feature a cool encounter as I move toward my destination. An obstacle, an interaction, an NPC or an event. Something which shows me … Continue reading Travel Without Maps

This week I'm taking a break from discussing the design of my Accessible Mega-Dungeon where Roleplay is a focus, so that I can share how the Open Game License debacle in Dungeons & Dragons may effect Accessibility. This blog will assume you are up to speed with the Dungeons & Dragons Open Game License situation. … Continue reading Jim’s Blog – Open Game License & Accessibility

In order to create my Accessible Mega-Dungeon with Roleplay as a focus and have it possible for Blind Game Masters to run it without any prep, I need the City it is set in to be Abandoned. Isolated Encounters In a living city the Peasant has grown the grain, which the miller grinds to flour, … Continue reading Jim’s Blog – Accessibility Through Abandonment

Step 1 on my journey of creating an Accessible Mega-Dungeon where Roleplaying is the focus will be to remove the need for maps. I've had to make a lot of considerations in planning the design of this Mega-Dungeon's document. I'll cover many of these considerations in future blogs, but today I wanted to share my … Continue reading Jim’s Blog – Mapping Without Maps
